RoboVeto works as a filter extension inside Apple's Messages app. Spam goes straight to your Spam folder — you never see it, and you never had to do anything.
How it works

Go to Settings → Messages → Unknown & Spam → select RoboVeto as your filter.
Pick which categories to filter. Political and Phishing are on by default.

Privacy
Apple's IdentityLookup framework calls RoboVeto's filter extension with only the body and sender of an incoming message from an unknown sender, one message at a time. The extension checks it against your keywords entirely on-device, returns a pass/filter decision, then discards everything. It never reads your existing message history.
The extension is a sandboxed process with no network access — it physically cannot send data anywhere. Your filter settings and custom keywords are stored locally in Apple's secure App Group container, protected by iOS file encryption.
Platform limitations
Apple's SMS filtering framework only routes messages from unknown senders to third-party filter apps. Two categories of messages are never routed to RoboVeto, regardless of your settings: short codes (the 5–6 digit numbers used by banks, delivery services, and many businesses) and some international numbers depending on your iOS version and carrier. This is a constraint of the iOS platform, not a limitation of RoboVeto. Messages from anyone already in your contacts are never filtered.
